Students placed in Nursing Homes find themselves working with the special needs of the elderly and other long-term care patients. The nursing care facilities of today have evolved into medical practices that manage the care of a variety of individual needs. NYC VTC students find themselves training in areas such as Direct Patient Care/Resident Care, Clerical/Ward Assistant, Administrative Offices, Medical Records Administrations, Transportation of Patients, Assist in occupational and physical therapy, Food and Nutrition, Building Maintenance, Shipping and Receiving and Assisting in Recreational and Social activities.
