What are the Projects?


  • Choose 3 class projects
  • For essays use Microsoft Word

PROJECT #1 Reflections on 9/11

  • Essay - Tell your story.
  • Where were you and how did you find out about 9/11?
  • How did it impact your life or your family's life?
  • Include Word Art , Clip Art or Photo 9/11 news

PROJECT #2 WHO AM I

  • Essay about you. Describe where you were born?
  • What were you like as a child? Who are your family members?
  • How many places have you lived? What are the best things about you as a person?
  • Include Word Art , Clip Art and/or Photo

PROJECT #3 Black History

  • Research a contemporary or historical figure.
  • Use the Internet links to help you choose. Google
  • Print (remember to make printouts at 80% and b/w)
  • Read and reflect on their life.
  • Imagine you are going out to dinner with this person.
  • Write a dialogue of your conversation or a commentary of the event.
  • Show that you know why the person is famous in your conversation..

PROJECT #4 Women's History

  • Research a contemporary or historical female figure.
  • Use the Internet links to help you choose. Google
  • Print (remember to make printouts at 80% and b/w)
  • Read and reflect on her life.
  • Imagine this person is your sister that you haven't seen in a long time.
  • Write her a letter letting her know how you are.
  • Give her some advice.

PROJECT #5 PowerPoint

  • Collaborate with partner or team
  • Decide on theme
  • Each PowerPoint will have 3 pages or more
  • Include digital portraits adjusted in PhotoShop
  • Haiku or poems Haiku examples
  • Animation

PROJECT #6 Love Designs

  • Pick a partner to work with
  • Open Illustrator Save As (your name)
  • Follow the classroom instruction sheet to create stars/hearts with fill colors and strokes
  • Open text box to type your name/poem or sayings
  • Feel free to experiment with different tools
  • Remember to Save many times during your work

PROJECT #7 MultiCultural Newsletter

  • Large team/class project
  • Research the flora of your hometown (flowering or non-flowering plants) Google...........Images..Search (plants and your country)
  • example: ..................................(Plants Jamaica)
  • Copy and paste photos and information into your folder
  • Visit the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens to search for botanic examples
  • Take digital pictures or sketch the plants
  • Download or scan your pictures
  • Save them on a floppy disk
  • Write a paragraph about your country and the flora you selected
  • Import your writing and pictures into Quark
  • When your team is finished designing the newsletter page - print
