I finally have my Debian server speaking fluent nfs and a bunch of SuSE
work stations humming. The problem is; I want the server to hold the /home
directory of the work station. I renamed the work station's /home and
mounted the servers /home in its place in the fstab file. I then pasted
the users entries from the passwd file but couldn't get access to the work
station's shadow file (I could get in but couldn't write) even as
root!!. All the users showed up on the login screen, but passwords did not
work (execpt root which was not touched from the original passwd & shadow
files).
could someone show me the error of my ways?
Phil
