REPORT BY STATE TASK FORCE RECOMMENDING NEW
 COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE
TO BE RELEASED AT WEDNESDAY A.M. PRESS CONFERENCE
 Press conference tomorrow at 11 a.m. at 250 Broadway - 19th floor
The Task Force on Community School District Governance Reform (Assemblyman
Steven Sanders and Terri Thomson, Co-chairs) will release its report and
recommendations at a press conference tomorrow morning, Wednesday February
19th, 2003 at 11. a.m. at 250 Broadway (19th floor hearing room).
The Task Force's report, which is being officially presented as required by
State law to the Governor and Legislature, contains recommendations on a
structure to replace the 32 Community School Boards, which go out of
business in June.
To prepare for developing its recommendations, the 20-member Task Force
--which was appointed by Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader
Joe Bruno--held hearings in each borough, totaling 50 hours and hearing from
almost 300 witnesses.
