Selection Criteria for Teachers

• A demonstrated ability to establish positive collegial relations with all staff (provision of current letters of recommendation)
  
• A deep, broad, and current knowledge of subject area
  
• A demonstrated knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Program model
  
• An ability to create and develop, independently and as part of a team, a curriculum that follows the International Baccalaureate subject framework (provision of curriculum outline for current courses)
  
• Demonstrated experience with inquiry instruction (provision of student work with teacher remarks attached)
  
• Knowledge of educational research, teaching strategies, and materials in curriculum area
  
• Experience with generic and discipline specific literacy methodologies
  
• A willingness to work within non-traditional school scheduling and organizational structures that meet the needs of students and the instructional program
  
• An ability to assist students to cope with highly stressful situations
  
• Knowledge of a second language preferred
  
• Familiarity with computers and their application in classroom instruction
