Lady Legends Impress in First Official Scrimmage

Heading into the experienced Watleigh HS gym, the Lady Legends did not back down.
An overall impressive performance by this gritty new team. Led by the scoring of Ingrid Mathews (12 points) and Jennefer Escobosa (10 points) the Lady Legends stormed into the gym at Watleigh high school and walked out with a very close loss, 38 -37. The Watleigh coach was also the Referree of the game (a'hem) and yet it did not deter the strong effort by Landmark's finest.
The rebounding was led by Samantha Samuels with 8, followed by Onitria Simmons and Helen De luna with 5 a piece. In steals it was Jennefer Escobosa and Ingrid Mathews with six each and Jill Baez and Onitria each with 5.
Jill led all players with 3 assists. Samantha and Jill played killer defense, which the scorers on the Watleigh team were not happy about.
Next scrimmage game is this Friday at six oclock, and next week on friday we will play our first real game against Watleigh at basketball city, also at 6:00pm. Team pictures will be taken this Friday at Basketball City, our home court.
