Legends Beat Humanities 79 -74

Written by Charles Barkley on 01-03-2003

Landmark Boys have won 4 of their last 5 games

The Landmark Legends used a balanced attack and tenacious hustle to defeat Humanities 79-74. The Legends were led by 28 points from Antonio Matos and 24 points from Juan Perdomo. Domingo Garcia contributed 8 assists and 6 points, Angel Lantigua had 2 assists and 4 points, and Gerald Feuilleteau had 10 points off the bench. Despite foul trouble, Kirk Miller, Kyle Gordon, Jihad Ford, and Alvaro Tavarez held down the middle.

The Legends held the lead throughout the first half, but Humanities came back strong in the fourth quarter. The game was up for grabs until Antonio had a beautiful spin move on a fast break layup to ice the victory. "He hit the triangle button" said the not-so-speechless Alvaro Tavarez after witnessing the shot.

It was a tremendous game, the Legends hustled, pressed, and fast-breaked the entire game. They face first-place Chelsea today at 4:00 at Basketball City. Check www.psal.org tomorrow morning for results. Also, check out this site for team statistics.
