Legends Bounce Back

Written by Siu Chan on 12-16-2003

The boys basketball team bounced back from a weekend loss to beat Chelsea 67-64

Another exciting game was won in the fourth quarter last night as the Legends beat Chelsea 67-64. Landmark had four players in double figures, but in the end it was defense, not scoring, that made the difference.

Chelsea led the game 48-44 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but the Legends picked up their defense and rebounding to come back. Antonio Matos led the surge with steals on three consecutive possessions. The Legends outscored Chelsea 23-16 in the fourth quarter, but it all came down to free throws.

Chelsea stole the ball with less than a minute remaining and cut the lead to one point. Kirk Miller was fouled, and hit two key free throws with seconds remaining to seal the victory.

The Legends improved their record to 6-1. They have a scrimmage tonight against Legacy, then they face 4-1 Economics on Wednesday at Basketball City.
