Softball Schedule This Week

Written by Dennis Joyce on 05-05-2004

Black Team has a chance to turn things around with three games in four days.

At 1-2, the verdict is still not in on this year's Landmark's Black and Gold team. Are they amoung the elite as many people who look at their talent level, and saw the way they competed with Big Red to a tough one run loss, and then a victory over Dark Blue, or are they going to struggle all year to not finish in 5th place, and thus lose any hope of defending their title?

Captain Jihad Garnett Ford thinks, " We are ready to step it up a notch. Light Blue is missing Eric G, we think we can do some good things out there today."

Co-Captain with Jihad, ONI walk leading Simmons agrees, " If we all show up and play the way I know we can, things will fall into place."

Jihad is coming off his best game, with a triple, homer and a double, Sahsa had two hits and three RBI's as well, and the Pitching tandem of Antonio, (who will be there, Jihad, and the Spinmeister Erik S, can really cause havoc for the opposing batters. --Hecksher field six will provide the answers this afternoon.

The Remaining schedule this week is as follows:

Black vs Light Blue--tuesday May 4, Hecksher #6

Black vs Red -- wednesday May 5, Hecksher #6

Red vs Dark Blue --Thrusday May 6, Hecksher #2

---Pinstripe vs Black --Friday May 7, NORTH Meadow #7

****North Meadow is in Central Park but around 98th street. --Take the B or C trains to 96th street, exit the front of the train, enter the park at 97th street, walk across the road and it is four fields over on the left side of the meadow.
