Legends win thrilling game over Social Change!
It was the last game of the season and irony of all ironies, it was against Coalition School of Social Change; our neighbors. The game did not start well for the Legends as they were just getting over the affects of their McDonalds lunch. At one point, the Legends were down 16 - 3 and sometime in the second quarter they were trailing by 21 points.
At halftime, after a fiery speech by coach "C", the Legends made a valiant comeback. The run and gun style by our southern neighbors was really their downfall as they continously turned the ball over. Behind the leadership of senior captians Leo and Flurgencio, 22 points from Antonio and 35 points from All-Tournament team member Juan Perdomo, the Legends pulled ahead with 9 seconds left and stayed there.
Landmark owns bragging rights to 220 West 58th street for at least another year as the Legends now have a 3 - 0 lifetime record against our neighbors. With nine returning players, next year is looking quite good.
