In Pursuit of Excellence

Citigroup Mentoring Program:

Selected students are paired with a Citigroup executive in a year-long program that provides educational, cultural, and social activities. Topics include career guidance, college preparation, and life skills training. Highlights of the program include workshops on academic excellence, time and stress management, conflict resolution and decision making. Trips include visits to the F.B.I., Museum of Modern Art, and the Federal Reserve. Summer internships are available. Students and mentors meet weekly for college, career, and life guidance.

 

Sony Career Exploration:

Students are selected to participate in a program that explores business through the lens of the music industry. Highlights include resume' workshops, interviewing skills, career research, and college preparation. Activities involve trips to recording studios, manufacturing plants and having guest speakers from the different corporate divisions. Internships are available in the summer.

 

Vocational Training:

Vocational training is provided to students who participate in an off-site internship program. Students learn important skills provided by varied by varied businesses throughout the city. Credits are awarded based on completion of the program. Students are chosen based on credit accumulation, G.P.A., and teacher recommendations.

 

Computer Technology:

All students take a year of computer literacy. A state-of-the-art computer lab is available to all students. Through generous grants, computer literacy and training is provided through varied technological applications. All content areas fully utilize the computer lab and available software. Extensive computer training is available for interested students.

 

Discipline Code:

All students at Unity High School are expected always to act in a manner reflecting the highest standard of conduct and behavior.The discipline code is strictly enforced. Students are expected to come to school prepared and ready to learn. The Deans work with students and their parents to maintain a high standard of conduct and behavior.
