CYCLE PROJECT: MAKING CROSS CULTURAL CONNECTIONS

PART I: What is my cultural heritage?

. Explore your ethnic and cultural heritage(s). Most of us have more

than one cultural background if we go back far enough. However,

we usually identify with only one and perhaps two groups.

 

l. Give a summary of the history (1 page) of the group you identify

with primarily. Give a brief historical summary of a possible second group.
    1. Describe your culture including: customs, holidays, language, foods,

values, etc. (1 page)
    1. What do you like/dislike about your culture?
    2. How are the values of culture passed down?
    3. What will you pass down to your children or nephews and niece?

PART II: LEARNING ABOUT A CULTURE THAT I KNOW NOTHING

    1. Explore the history of a culture you know nothing about. Write

    2. Describe this culture including: customs, holidays, language,

food, values, life expectancy, etc. (1 page)

PART III: CONTRAST AND COMPARE

    1. Contrast (what is different) and compare (what is similar) the

history and culture of your background and the one you

researched. (1 page)
