Course of Study

Tenth Grade Form II


Form II will engage our students with more challenging academic work across curricula with more extensive community service in a variety of settings in the City of New York. The staff will concentrate on the new standards, developing habits of mind and higher-order thinking skills, which will be required for the more advanced curriculum in the Senior Institute.


In Form II, the components of the portfolio will be similar to form I. However, a position paper in the Humanities will replace the research paper; a math/science project demonstrating the scientific method; and foreign Language Project will be added.

    • Demonstration of research skills
    • A research paper
    • An annotated bibliography of all of the student´┐Żs reading (25 books - See DEAR attachment)
    • A Humanities project (Art illustrations are optional)
    • A persuasive or reflective essay
    • Evaluation of community service
    • Demonstrated proficiency in mathematics and science (basic skills, conceptual understandings, Scientific method)
    • An academic review
    • Foreign language portfolio
